Acoustic stretch ceiling in home office

Acoustic stretch ceiling and custom-made furniture

Modern architecture breathes tranquility through sleek lines and open spaces. However, those same materials we love - glass, concrete, poured floors, and wooden cabinetry - are often the culprits behind disturbing echoes. At Kanvas, we believe an interior is only truly 'finished' when it sounds as good as it looks. The solution? A seamless integration of our acoustic stretch ceiling with your unique bespoke furniture.

The power of SoftSound Pro

In this project, the SoftSound Pro stretch ceiling acts as an invisible sound absorber. While the eye enjoys a razor-sharpe white ceiling, a technical masterpiece takes place behind the fabric:

  • Superior absorption: thanks to thousands of microscopic perforations in the fabric, sound is not reflected, but absorbed.
  • Alpha value of 0.85: combined with the underlying polyester absorption mats, we achieve an absorption rate of 85%. This immediately brings reverb in a room with a lot of glass and wood back to a comfortable level.
  • Minimal impact: for this impressive performance, we only require an installation height of 6.5 cm relative to the existing structure.

Seamless integration with bespoke cabinetry

The biggest challenge in combining ceilings with custom furniture is the finish. Where traditional plasterboard often suffers from cracks or fissures due to the natural movement of a building, a stretch ceiling always remains perfectly taut.

  • Architectural flow: we seamlessly integrate light coves and curtain profiles into the ceiling design, creating visual unity between the walls and the ceiling.
  • Hidden technology: ventilation units, smoke detectors, and speakers? We integrate them so subtly that they almost completely blend into the ceiling surface.
  • Freedom of form: whether your furniture is angular or contains organic curves, our fabric follows every line of the design with extreme precision.

Why choose Kanvas for your project?

Installing an acoustic stretch ceiling is a craft. However, integrating it into a total concept with bespoke furniture requires technical insight. Our team works closely with interior architects to ensure that the transitions between cabinetry and ceiling are precise to the millimeter. No messy sealant edges, just pure perfection.
