Mooncrete

Printed stretch ceilings (Mooncrete)

From a subtle concrete look to a fully custom photo print, sharply printed on acoustic polyester. The print doesn't fade, doesn't discolour, and requires zero maintenance.

Mooncrete is Kanvas's printed acoustic stretch ceiling. It combines the visual impact of a personalised print with the sound-absorbing properties of a micro-perforated polyester membrane. The Mooncrete collection consists of five texture variants inspired by painting techniques. Each one developed with data and algorithms so that no pattern ever repeats.

Beyond the collection, any photo print or custom colour is possible via sublimation printing: the ink is burned deep into the fibres at high temperature for a durable, vibrant print that never fades.

6 reasons to choose a printed stretch ceiling

1. Your ceiling as a design element
A ceiling is the largest unused surface in any room. Mooncrete turns it into a fully-fledged design element. From a subtle earthy texture to a bold graphic statement. Your interior starts at the top.

2. Patterns that never repeat
What's impossible with existing images, Kanvas created with data and algorithms. The five Mooncrete textures contain no repeating pattern whatsoever, just like real painting techniques and natural materials. Every ceiling is unique.

3. Acoustic and decorative at the same time
The Mooncrete membrane is micro-perforated, just like our SoftSound membranes. The print fully conceals the perforations, while the ceiling invisibly absorbs sound. Aesthetics and function, with no compromise to the eye.

4. A print that never fades
Sublimation printing burns the ink deep into the polyester fibres at high temperature, not onto the surface. The result is a UV-resistant, washable print that never peels, fades, or discolours. No maintenance, no periodic replacement.

5. Any colour or photo, custom-made
The five collection textures are just the starting point. Any RAL colour, any image, and any pattern can be realised. For large spaces, Kanvas seamlessly joins multiple membranes using the coupling technique, with no visible seam.

6. Financially attractive
A printed stretch ceiling replaces expensive decorative finishing, acoustic panels, and a paint job. For renovations of homes older than 10 years, the reduced VAT rate of 6% applies.

De Mooncrete collection: 5 texture variants

Mooncrete Stone

Deep grey-brown. Robust and earthy look. Ideal for statement interiors, restaurant settings, and commercial spaces that want to convey character.

Mooncrete Sand

Warm sandy beige. Natural and organic. Combines beautifully with wood, slate, and natural materials. A popular choice for living rooms and hotel rooms.

Mooncrete Dust

Neutral grey-beige. Versatile and timeless. Fits seamlessly into any modern interior without dominating it. The perfect backdrop for statement lighting.

Mooncrete Ivory

Warm ivory white. Light and spacious. Offers a warm take on white without the coolness of RAL 9016. A classic choice for living rooms, hotels, and spa environments.

Mooncrete Salt

Almost white, slightly grainy. Subtle and refined. For interiors aiming for maximum calm and brightness, with the warmth that standard white lacks.

Custom printing

Beyond the five collection textures, any image, logo, or RAL colour can be realised via sublimation printing. You supply the file in high resolution, and we provide a digital preview for approval before production starts. For large spaces (> 5.10 metres wide), multiple membranes are seamlessly joined using the Kanvas coupling technique.

Printing techniques: sublimation printing vs UV printing

Sublimation printing (for indoor use)

  • The ink is burned into the polyester fibres at high temperature (around 200°C), not onto the surface
  • UV-resistant: colours remain stable, even under indirect indoor daylight
  • Washable with a lightly damp cloth, zero extra maintenance
  • Vibrant colours that never peel or fade
  • Ideal for homes, offices, hospitality, retail, and hotels
  • Standard on all Mooncrete collection membranes
  • Combinable with acoustic performance (micro-perforated membrane)

UV printing (for outdoor use)

  • Light-resistant UV ink for outdoor use
  • Resistant to rain, wind, temperature fluctuations, and direct sun
  • Ideal for awnings, terrace covers, façade banners, and outdoor signage
  • Also applicable to outdoor Wonderwall stretch walls
  • Bright and colour-fast, even under prolonged UV exposure
  • Available on outdoor stretch membrane, a material specifically designed for outdoor conditions

Applications

Homes to be renovated: living room and bedroom
A Mooncrete Stone or Sand gives a living room warmth and depth without the feel of wallpaper or decorative ceiling moulding. Choose subtlety with Ivory or Salt, or go for a photo print that tells your story. No demolition work, no dust, and your furniture stays right where it is.

New-build homes
As a finishing touch in the final stage of construction. Mooncrete integrates seamlessly into any architectural concept. Suitable for all ceiling types, including sloped roofs.

Restaurants & hospitality
Printed stretch ceilings turn any hospitality venue into an experience. Acoustically comfortable and visually striking. Fast installation with minimal disruption to business operations.

Office & coworking
An office ceiling doesn't have to be grey. Mooncrete in your corporate colour or with an abstract pattern strengthens brand identity while also improving the acoustics of the work environment. Combinable with lighting integration and ventilation.

Retail & showroom
Retail spaces and showrooms call for visual differentiation. A printed ceiling draws the eye upward and creates an unforgettable spatial experience. For commercial spaces, a logo or brand story on the ceiling is a unique communication tool.

Hotel & wellness
Luxury interiors deserve a ceiling that exudes class. Mooncrete printed stretch ceilings give a hotel room or wellness space a warm, serene atmosphere, with the added benefit of sound absorption. Moisture-resistant and antibacterial as standard.
